Iran, Pakistan plan to expand cultural ties

Iran and Pakistan have expressed their keenness to strengthen the bilateral cultural relations.

Iran’s Mehr news agency reported on Friday that Ehsan Khazaei, Iran’s cultural attache in Islamabad, and the director general of Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Fouzia Saeed, met in her office, and discussed the ways to enhance cooperation between the two counties in the fields of culture and art.

During the meeting, the two sides stressed the significance of promoting bilateral cultural ties.

Khazaei emphasized the need to utilize the existing capacities of Iran and Pakistan in the field of culture and art.

For her part, the head of PNCA referred to the “deep” Tehran-Islamabad ties.

“Iran and Pakistan are two neighboring and Muslim countries, and we have deep cultural, artistic and historical relations with the Islamic Republic.”

Saeed also expressed the willingness of the PNCA, which is affiliated to the National Heritage and Cultural Division of the government of Pakistan, to expand mutual cooperation with the office of Iran’s cultural attache and to hold any joint events such as cultural and artistic exhibitions.
